FAQs

Independent Evaluation (IE) is now a well established process, but if you have not yet used the service, you will probably have questions about how it works and what to expect. We have two sets of FAQs:

FAQs for claimants & defendants

If you are a claimant or a defendant, these FAQs are for you. We hope you will find them useful, whether you are considering using IE for the first time or you have already made up your mind. They cover everything from ‘What is an Evaluation?’, to explaining why IE is so much better than going to Court, how the IE process works and what to expect on the day.

FAQs for legal representatives

This is a slightly more technical set of FAQs designed mainly for solicitors and barristers, although we encourage everyone to read them in order to gain a better understanding of how IE works. Key questions include timing; that although cases are best brought to IE in the early stages, it is never too late, no matter how intractable a case may appear to be.

These pages are intended to cover the most common questions. We suggest you read both sets of FAQs in order to get a well-rounded understanding of the IE process. If you would like to talk to us about your specific case, please don’t hesitate to call Jonathan Bishop on 020 3383 1000.
